Actually felt a little sorry for this player yesterday.
Women's OA, top of the table potential title decider, level 4 ref, me and another NAR on the line.
Did my pre match check for jewellery - experienced teams , near the end of the season, they all KNOW you can't wear jewellery.
"Don't forget to take it all off" I said. Then noticed capt had a very small ring type earing - "Can I tape it?" she said, "Sorry, no" I replied.
At the toss she was still wearing it, going to have to come out, me and the ref told her. Couldn't get it out, game stared, rolling subs so she could have come back.
Even went back to the changing rooms - miles away from the pitch, came back, still not out, asked me politely during the game if she could tape it, same answer obviously!
After about 40 mins she, with a lot of help finally manged to remove it and she played the rest of the match.
As I say I did feel a bit sorry for her - getting soft in my old age!
