The Ref Stop

First misconduct report

Level 6 Referee
Well, after today's game I need to complete my first misconduct report... Haven't done it yet as I've been out but I made a note of everything that happened so I don't forget... Only problem is the coach refused to tell me his name then from my perspective got all the team to leave so I couldn't ask them

The Ref Stop
just put not known for his name with a 'brief' explanation in your report

perhaps have a word with your refereeing mentor, whoever that my be, before filling out your form

the league's website may have coaches name but no way you can be sure that you'd be i.d.'ing the right person

the guy is clearly an idiot

Tried to contact the league ref secratery as I know him well ( he ran my course) but had no reply... I'll type what happened and wait until tomorrow to send it in case I get a reply with a definite name

i'd be careful about discussing stuff with league representatives. send it to your county fa - they'll forward a copy to the league

I wouldn't get too hung up over his name. Just submit your report without it and let county deal with it

Spoke to refs secratery and he said to leave it out and put on the end that he refused to give me his name

Obviously I don't know about your relationship with your league representatives but I definitely feel people over here are always willing to give advice, especially to younger referees like myself, on matters such as this

jack - you're dealing with the f.a. - if you want to make it to the top, you follow their rules, imho, and often for good reason

Try reading the thread title then you might work out why I asked my ref secratery for guidance on the matter

don't confuse sending reports to your league fixtures secretary with who you report to as a referee, especially where disciplinary matters are concerned

you don't report to the league's referee secretary, you report to the county f.a.

your local referee's association, whether you're a member or not, will have people who can advise you

networking is good and league referee secretaries are good contacts to have but getting your admin right is important to those within the f.a. who decide on development, promotions etc etc

not impressed with your last response by the way

Probably not the best response i could've put so I appologise haywain but I've done things the way I saw best and everything is in the hands of county f.a now

Errr, can we play nice please gents? I don't want to start issuing warnings, or closing threads but will do if I have to.

Sorry Ross. Apologies have been given and accepted over private message... Once again I apologise for any offence caused to anyone
