Mills (FG) venomously shouting in the AR's face
No action from the officials
It's not so much the player's behaviour which i consider disgraceful. This is football afterall, I'd expect nothing lessAnd this is surprising how? In the WC, more than once we saw players screaming f-bombs directly into the referee's face with no action. This has apparently become acceptable behavior at that level. Appalling, yes, but sadly it is no longer surprising.
(And it sure as heck trickles down, with young players thinking it is is OK to argue all the time. If soccer is ever serious about respect campaigns, the only way it is going to get real traction is when FIFA makes clear in international play and the top leagues make clear in their competitions that referees will be expected to sanction such behavior and will be backed up when they do.)
And so long as they have a monopoly on football, they can do what they want and at the moment all they care about is money and power. All they have to do is give the impression that they are doing something about it. They don't actually have to do it.And this is surprising how? I can't put the blame on the official on the day. It's the culture that 'we' have created, and the official feel they have to adhere to it if they want to get to the top or stay there. For example we make the assumption that a referee with a high number of dissent cautions compared to peers is assumed to be poor in game/player management. It's not so much the player's behaviour which i consider disgraceful. It's the inaction by the officials which i can't stomach. You're right about the World Cup. The first tournament to be officiated by the sponsors
Deano Deano..... Refs have hearts too.... Brilliant!!!
Is it that they’re a vegan club?Forest Green Rovers hold a distinction that only a few other clubs can say the same? Any ideas
They may be but nope that’s not the answer on my sheetIs it that they’re a vegan club?
Again, we're not in any disagreement whatsoever. Too many referees value promotion over anything elseAnd so long as they have a monopoly on football, they can do what they want and at the moment all they care about is money and power.
