From my opinion (only briefly looked at the video as I was attempting to multitask) it seems like clumsy control of the body trying to grapple in front. Just didn’t see a deliberate punch/hit. However, players know they run the risk around the head.
1. DOGSO - textbook
2. Not sure what he was doing… Not sure if I would go VC, looks more reckless to violent to me.
3. I did feel that the last one was DOGSO worthy. Doesn’t matter if it’s a difficult goal scoring opportunity. He has the potential for a challenging shot or cross and tap in.
And...
First pen was very soft and a tangling of legs…
Second is a HB offence in UCL so fair enough…
Third was a dive. Minimal contact. Great to see dives not getting credit. Should have booked him too!
Again I think this is where the LOTG are outdated and need sorting. Things to add:
Unacceptable sporting conduct - hair pulling, genital grabbing etc. = red card
Making physical contact with a referee = red card
Little things that just should be in there but are not. Football will always come...
Think players have had enough opportunity to learn that hair pulling of any sort, accidental or not, will result in a red card. PGMOL have been very consistent with this to their credit.
I agree that LOTG need to have more of a backbone against unacceptable conduct. I know that football doesn’t like to ‘copy’ rugby but they are so far ahead of us with referee respect.
