The one that I really struggle with is RefSupportUK. Great cause having a support line out there for referees and I cannot knock that side of them. The part I cannot get behind is the way they communicate with fans on X and I think it causes more negativity towards refs instead of trying to help...
The thing is, we wore the away kit to help market it as it was newly released. I think we do this every time a new one comes out?
Most games in these friendlies will be in the same light trying to market these new kits, so that is probably why this issue has happened.
This season, I have done 16 Middles and 20 Lines. Could have been more but weather and availability have limited this so could have been much more.
Worth noting this is only Steps 6-4 and a couple county cup games
Congrats the first final appointment is always a special one.
The appointments are generally done by merit and will be given to refs who have had good club marks and you never know who could be at any of your games i.e county reps who could have said you did really well
Having not been able to see much of the clip other than a shorter version online. Looks like he was talking to his assistants like we all do before being huddled. Also seen by him having to chuck the coin at one of the ARs
Saw the official link going round a group chat yesterday, but of course I've lost it. 5 sec countdown to start when the referee deems the restart to have taken too long. Really just means we have another reason to not give out delaying restart yellows, with as rare as they are anyway.
I like...
Also this option opens up a world of referee bias complaints if one team thinks he/she is starting the count too quickly or too slowly. Lets let the guys at IFAB (who have never made a bad law change in their lives) do their thing and I'm sure everything is going to be fine...
I'm probably gonna be shot down as I haven't read the article, but 5 seconds for me seems way too short. Also is that 5 seconds from retrieving the ball, ball going out, placing it down or whenever the ref feels like starting?
My personal change would keep it to 30 secs, but make it similar to sin bins so they can't return until the ball is out of play next. That way the genuine ones aren't overly punished like it is now but the fakers have something else they need to be concerned about
The first Level 4 I ever worked with was talking about how he was picked up for not moving enough during games. His response was always, I don't need to move if I'm already in a credible position.
Continuing with this, I usually decide just before talking to them. Sometimes if I was thinking no yellow I change while speaking to them.
I find it helps me often to constantly be saying the players numbers in my head whenever the game is going on
I'm seriously going to have an issue of getting rid of my current kits at the end of the season. As someone who was 17 when it first came out (now 21) I've had to buy quite a few kits to keep up with growth, both width and height wise.
My first thoughts are yellow as he is reckless there. Ball was in a position to justify his leg being where it is and he looks like he tries to reduce the amount of force used when he realises he's f*cked up (based on how the leg is retracted afterwards).
Not sure if there is a tolerance...
