West Brom 2 game ban for handball

Exactly right James. Can’t even compare the two, but people like the author do & then they will complain that Referees and the EFL are inconsistent. Makes my blood boil so it does!!

    Liverpool v Nottm Forest

As usual with the public from the TNT comment - they have no understanding as to what is actually happening & why! Squad numbers has caught them out!

    Field conditions - dry weather

There are many places that are charging far too much for their 3G pitches, whereby for many of them it’s not just supply and demand because the pitches remain empty - so a no win situation. However, I am not sure what you mean by the super rich/rich this country is when even many of PL clubs...

    L4 Assessment Slump

As an Observer apart from Section 2.4, the sections I found least strengths of are all the competencies you have highlighted. Some of them because not enough in the game to demonstrate (or not performed very well or inconsistent etc, so I include as Consideration Points). Especially with the Law...

    L4 Assessment Slump

You are probably not far off with your final sentence, whereby the direction of travel is for Observers to come to an end and replaced by Match Day Coaches. It may be that this happens for the start of next season, or the season after or the season after that, but I think it will happen (my...

    L4 Assessment Slump

You may think that the average mark was never going to change with Observers no longer able to see the mark, but I can assure you that’s what they thought may happen. Also, there is also a possibility that an Observer may make a mistake on its completion with the mark reducing (or increasing)...

    L4 Assessment Slump

The early indications from the FA are that there has been very little movement of average mark following the removal of mark for the Observer to see - so that’s good. However, I can’t stress highly enough is that the main focus for any Referee is their performance, improving their strengths and...

West Brom 2 game ban for handball

    ….but can always hope!

    Field conditions - dry weather

Along with 3G pitches, desalination in Spain & Portugal & some new projects along similar lines have started in Turkey. It needs to happen here, along with some new reservoirs.

West Brom 2 game ban for handball

Although this could open a can of worms (though it is accepted that this is not new), I think it’s a good thing & hopefully will deter others. People may say that the Referee etc should be suspended for not seeing it, but really - I couldn’t tell for sure until I saw various replays from various...

    Field conditions - dry weather

Funding from the foundation is not likely to ever be enough, but is all that can be expected. It’s currently funding all the replacement of concrete/unsafe perimeter walls etc

… and x % for future proofing, whereby depending upon the amount of usage, the anticipated life of a 3G has imo been shortened from what the makers originally thought would be the case (knowingly or unknowingly!!!).

    What does immediately after mean?

I tend to agree with you, though I think there are plenty of Referees out there at many different levels whereby even if you took away the immediateness, they would penalise for handball - whether the arms are in a natural position or not. They would not likely consider the criteria under Law...

    Fa cup

I didn’t think we can assume that everything carried on as if it didn’t happen, though it looks like this was a very rare occurrence because I’ve never heard of such an incident happening before. Still should not have happened.

    Fa cup

I am sure that most Referees want a big hole to open up when this happens, or to just remain under the duvet for a few days, but it’s not rocket science and the fundamental competition rules need to be known/understood.
