Good point (also good to see you have updated your profile!!).

Many from L4 may well argue that they do not receive payment beyond travel and other approved out of pocket expenses eg kit, coats, tracksuits etc. If this wasn’t the case, are they declaring income for tax purposes. At the time of me completing the DBS form via the FA’s third party provider, I...

    Registration 2026/27

I suspect this is going to be confusing for many - be it a Referee or Observer & some may not want to proceed if they tick Referee/Observer - paid & the impact that may have (give up their role).

    Registration 2026/27

Oh I see - I could have been the same - System said Observer paid or Observer unpaid. On one hand I am Observer paid because I do get paid by the FA - but are really only expenses (travelling mileage etc) or Observer - Unpaid, which I nearly ticked cos only paid a one off fee without mileage...

That’s a significant difference between the two. I was offered no different options, but I’m just wondering whether there is a difference in type of DBS we both have. On Gov UK site: Basic DBS: £21.50 (shows unspent convictions) Standard DBS: £21.50 (shows spent and unspent convictions...

    Registration 2026/27

Does seem strange/frustrating that the registration number isn’t held in a central place on the system (unless I just haven’t come across it). Perhaps on the plus side, I had to update my DBS (due to expire end of July) and the process was overall painless apart from the cost of just over £60...

    Registration 2026/27

Overall, it only took me a moment nite or so to Re-register yesterday & I am aware that many from my location found the same, though some did forget to note down their registration number when it came up as a prompt.

    Arsenal vs PSG

Perhaps & that’s one way of looking at it, though the best way to look at it, since it actually happened, is that the Referee didn’t award a penalty and it wasn’t overturned. Some may say there is no right or wrong whichever way it went, but the outcome was more right than wrong in more ways...

    Arsenal vs PSG

I was being conservative in my original comments, but now that I have found what I was looking for, the evidence is clear & not in Arsenal’s favour i am afraid. The Referee was the opposite to careless - he was correct not to award a penalty.

Coming together, both at it, Madueke going to ground too easily, was there sufficient contact from the defender - too much doubt for a penalty for me!

    MOT vs CEL

I agree with some but not all of what you say. I agree with the question the Referee could have asked about show me a clip that it’s clearly 100% hits the hand. For me personally, I think it’s hit the hand but because it’s in front of his forehead the ball has travelled at speed. However, for...

    MOT vs CEL

In my early days as a Referee (late 80’s) & without the benefit of the internet etc, I used to question my understanding of the law relating to handball as it was written at that time. One of the things that often occurred was the ball hitting the hand/arm of a player in front of his head/chest...

I knew someone on it yesterday & received his unsuccessful phone call earlier this morning. He is very disappointed but all he can do is to dust himself down & try again.
