Keeper Off His Line At Penalties

Having watched the Europa League kicks from the penalty mark last night, what is everyone's opinion on where the Sevilla keeper was to save the second penalty kick.

    goalkeeper parrying the ball

I wouldn't be just waiting for the keeper topick the ball up. I always have verbal communication with players and would be talking to the keeper telling him if he picks it up its an IDFK if thats my opinion. Generally found gets a positive comments from coaches and players alike

    SFA kit for Season 2014/2015

Do any SFA refs in the know out there, know whats happening with SFA kit next year? Greaves Sports appear to be running down stock and only have the current black or silver Adidas jerseys in stock in limited sizes. As this is the second year of these kits I'd imagine the money men behind Adidas...

    what would you do?

I would never take the easy option just because you thought you were going to get a hard time. Were there to uphold the laws of the game, not side with teams who influence by bullying, large crowds, etc. Not on my high horse, but we don't do it to win popularity prizes, although sometimes I do...

    Offside Clarfication

I think the problem is a lot of referees are trying to make the decision and sense of the new interpretations themselves. our association held our monthly meeting and a senior referee explained the interpretations and showed different examples. I'm not saying it made it crystal clear, but...

    6 second rule

I recently had a quiet word with a keeper that he was holding onto the ball too long at kick outs, he looked at me in disgust and his coach said "that rule was done away with years ago, the same time they allowed keepers to come off their line at a penalty!!" Honestly, what chance have you got !!

    Interpretation of the Offside Law

What do people think of this interpretation of the offside law. A free kick is awarded to Blues 30 yards from goal. White wall is lined up accordingly. Three blue players start in position 3 yards behind wall, not obstructing the keeper, but with no players between them and goalkeeper. Kick is...

    The amount of games.

I agree with you about multiple games on the same day, however personally when it comes to March / April / May I have no problem in doing one on a Sunday, and 2 or 3 mid week games. There is a ref in our association who will do Friday night, 2 or 3 on Saturday and 2 or 3 on Sunday, that's way too...

What Do You Think Of New Ref Kit For World Cup

Well guys. The road to the World Cup is here and Adidas have launched there new ref range and no all black kit in it. I quite like the all navy with red worn by ref in the England v Denmark game, but as a traditionalist I would have preferred it black. As the Champions League kit. I think that's...

    Ability to change your decision

Always try and use your experience, by observing players reactions, giving yourself a second or so thinking time to make a decision. Dont always rush them.

Classic things you hear whilst refereeing...

Heard the best comment ever re a caution on Sunday. Blue player running on goal 30 yards out has his jersey pulled so hard by yellow player it almost comes over his head. I stop play and when cautioning yellow player he says "Honestly ref,he must have glue or something on his top, because my...

    Strangest Penalty Shoot Out

I too witnessed the match describe by mickey2001. Having spoken to ref involved, it appeared a nightmare to deal with. After 10 all,and Blues manager admitted he had taken a player who had finished the match to hospital, thus resulting in only having 10 players. He did not notify ref of this at...
