Much is already being made on sports sites of the inclusion of Maguire and Chalobah, but personally I think this is a good time to call them up, especially give then standard of Malta. That's a game England are expected to win, but not much will be learned from it. It's one of those where it's an opportunity to see how some of these players manage.

I said similar a few years back when there as a clamour for the likes of Grant Holt to be picked. I argued that the games against San Marino et al were the perfect time to do it as there was nothing to lose by selecting him. If he did ok, play him against higher-quality opposition and see how he does. If he played poorly, you've lost nothing, and can say to the critics "See? I told you he's not of international quality."

Same goes for Maguire and Chalobah. At least give them an hour against Malta and see how they go.

Maguire is a bloody good defender, could make a squad position his own in the next twelve months given the opportunities.
Good to see another ex Hull City stalwart, Jake Livermore, being given another chance too.

Chuck in Jags and Kyle Naughton and we could enter it as a Sheffield Five a side team with 2 subs....

As much as it pains me with him being an ex blunt, I've been massively impressed by Harry McGuire and he was immense at Old Trafford tonight.
Feel your pain. I have even selected him in fantasy football
