Censorship
Not after an argument or anything but just want an opinion on this.
A foul was not awarded on the night. Nor VAR intervention.

Im asking for two incidents here.
The first is the incident with Thiago.
The second is the penalty incident with Gray.

Both in this same clip.
VAR did look, but left both to on field decision.

Would love to hear the audio for the Thiago incident.
Didn't win the ball, last defender, literally wipes out the player. DOGSO.

Both fouls for me. Both not clear and obvious errors for me to warrant VAR involvement.

Inconsistencies in VAR threshold doesn't help either of these incidents.

Romero incident - foul and DOGSO Red. As not given on field, should result in a VAR intervention

Gray incident - “seen them given” :) . No VAR intervention regardless of on field decision

What is your rationale for it not to be C&O? He is through on goal and it's DOGSO

So after seeing some replies, here was my take on the two incidents and after a night of sleep without emotion from the time.

I personally thought it was a foul, and would be a clear DOGSO. A lot of soft fouls, much softer than this wouldve been, given throughout the match so was surprised nothing here.
I think Madley may have been a bit unsighted, due to the way Romero went down, of a potential handball too. Although I do have the argument of breaking his fall so in law its technically not handball, I feel he then grabs the ball momentarily and pushes it away, potentially giving the initial impression to Madley that he played it properly and not with his hands. Hard one for Madley to see but maybe assistant should've seen it.
I do think it fits the criteria for clear and obvious (and as it would be DOGSO, VAR should have intervened). Would love to hear the audio for this as to how Madley explained his reasoning to VAR for which VAR agreed with on field decision and how VAR didnt see it as a clear error. What i mean by this is that has Madley agreed he never got the ball and maybe thought Thiago just fell over too meaning no foul? Even then, I feel VAR should be saying "have a look from this angle, think you are wrong, but you could change your mind with this other view". Or has Madley not seen it how it actually happened and VAR doesnt think a foul has occurred? Or even handball?

For the penalty, if given, I'd not be having arguments. I do feel the ball was won, was clean, but he was near enough sandwiched out and the challenge that won the ball came from behind him more than the side so could be seen as careless. Maybe not enough for c&o but again, feel it maybe could have been one and wouldn't be annoyed if given.

Had a foul been awarded against Romero and no red card showed I would agree with a VAR intervention, but I don't think not giving the foul was anywhere near enough of a clear and obvious error to merit VAR recommending a review. Absolutely no chance on the penalty, just looks like a normal football coming together.
