'Abomination' is harsh - can sympathise that the ball comes from a deflection but doesn't negate that the arm is out from the body.

I think this is a case where this is a penalty in the SPL but not in the EPL(or certainly wouldn't be intervened upon) and this is where I do think the EPL do have it right more in terms of the handball interpretation because his arms are fairly close to his body and the ball would just hit his body in anycase.

This is the kind of line that Dermot Gallagher pedals that is actually complete nonsense. Handball interpretation in Scotland is far closer to England than Europe. Two or three seasons ago it was definitely a lot more strict/bonkers, but they’ve definitely toned it down and are generally a lot more sensible now.

Idiotic decision, intervention, whatever.
Nothing new. Has VAR contributed to the demise of Scottish referereeing? A stupid question really

Just go back to the easiest/obvious decision where if it hits the hand/arm it is a free kick or a pen. Nothing else considered.

Would kill the game. People would get in to the area with the ball and fire it at peoples arms.
Agree, players would be coached to try and kick the ball at arms. It would be like VAR, people don't like what they have today but once that law came in they'd be demanding the old law back.

Not sure I'd even consider that far enough away from his body.
My thoughts exactly. For the action he is carrying out I’d argue his arm needs to provide some balance for the rest of his body. Add in the deflection from a yard away and my mind is blown.

Handball offence, maybe 🤷‍♂️ by some interpretation of the law . Clear and obvious error, surely not?!

Disclaimer: I’m a Killie fan and very bitter 😂

No need for the disclaimer. You're almost certainly correctly frustrated here.
This isn't a fans forum, but we're all still fans of someone. As long as the argument is balanced and well reasoned rather than just coming on to moan about officials then your input is always welcome and you're doing better than some of the other fans on here who claim to be unbiased! (and I genuinely mean that generally rather than aimed at one person in specific)
