In terms of the incident, I really don’t think a VAR intervention should have happened. I’d rather a yellow, but I could live with red if it was given onfield.

Lord Hackett has had his say- https://www.footboom1.com/en/news/f...rve-a-red-card-in-match-against-wolverhampton

Although my 2 favourite quotes from the above link have to be-

The challenge was careless, but not a serious foul. Illya Zabarnyi should have been shown a yellow card, not a red," Hackett stated in an interview with Football Insider.-

Additionally, it is worth mentioning that Keith Hackett is included in the list of the top 100 referees of all time, as recognized by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).

Rumour has it that he’s 1 place above his number 1 fan @RustyRef

I read the link before I read the rest of your comments. I was going to post the exact same 2 quotes!

Additionally, it is worth mentioning that it was absolutely not worth mentioning that Keith Hackett is included in the top 100 referees of all time.

If anything it makes the list null and void when he’s literally contradicted law 2 paragraphs above the statement

He has no credibility and repeatedly keeps proving it. Unfortunately people seem to listen to him, if I was in charge of PGMOL I'd be putting out a statement pointing out that what he wrote is contrary to the laws that referees actually have to apply.

Had the final decision been yellow he would have 100% have come out to say it should have been a red card.
