It is much shorter than most and thinner.

Pretty sure I got mine from A & H who will be back in business very soon as I understand it.

Try just holding the whistle instead of using a lanyard--best for me with a pair of whistles.

I thought it was crazy until I tried it (not sure if I picked it up from this board or another one). I tried it once and never used or even considered using a lanyard again.
