Can someone please shut Andy Hinchcliffe up?

Toffolo tries to recover a loose ball after the Luton keeper saves it, keeper closer to it and on the ground. I’m trying to get it Toffolo knees the keeper in the back of the head, goes down and demands a penalty.

Hinchcliffe. “There’s contact!! That’s a clear foul and penalty”.

Seriously 🤦🏻‍♂️

Oh he's an absolute bore!!

On a side note we had a thread about officials getting caught up in pitch invasions last week, all officials were practically in the tunnel when the whistle went just then!!!

That was smart thinking to be honest.

I think the Officials have used comms to say the game is over but Parker forgot to blow his whistle to tell everyone else, it did look funny seeing the AR sprint across the pitch whilst the players were still playing

Looked like a pen from inside the ground, not seen a replay yet though. However I have no doubt this is something Toffolo would do.

Oh for sure...though seemed a tad comical to see the AR sprinting off when the throw was still to be taken
Yeh it was amuaing but really smart. They knew a pitch invasion was coming

Not seen it but good. Obv few will know if thats off the referees own back or having watched last weeks scenes a higher power has issued a reminder

or maybe the ref was on here

Horrible a player was attacked. From our selfish point of view as official though, if that had been the referee then you need to be looking at ground closures

its not out of realms of possibilty fences, or their modern day equal will be considered

that field is the players-officials workplace and they absolutely deserve to be able to work without fear of assault.

it being a criminal offence is clearly not deterrent enough, as that law goes out the window in the name of celebration.
Grounds require an operating license and conditions of issue should include provision for a safe environment for all. If the club cannot providd this ( ' there were too many fans coming on from too many places to contain' ) then the license needs revoked until they can do so.

This is the key point. Pitch invasions aren’t a new thing, it’s basically become a tradition within the EFL to do it at the last home game. you see away players and referees literally fleeing at full time because the law markers would rather risk their safety than doing something about it. It’s great that the guy who assaulted Billy Sharp has been arrested, but it was entirely preventable

I've been saying for years that this needs sorted out, it was only a matter of time before someone got injured. Its a criminal offence to go onto a football pitch, they need to find a way to stop it happening, at least until all players and match officials are off the pitch.

I suspect this incident might be the catalyst to that happening.
