Sometimes you have to choose the lesser evil as there is no good option is presented to you and the problem is not a deliberate ignorance of law by teams. The higher up you go up a league chain the less likely this should happen as they should be more organised and things are double checked. If I am given a choice of playing with the wrong coloured undershirt or delaying a broadcasted game (which prop already delayed because of kit clash), id go with the former. Some trivial rules can be bent for the greater good.

To just know the answer. Players wearing Undertights have to wear the same colour. But I’m wondered what about undershirts.
The law as it stands, as far as I am aware refers to Under Garments. My understanding of law is that the under garments should be the same main colour as the shirt or shorts being worn

Actually, the same colour phrase is worded in a way that applies to shorts only. But this is a result of sloppy and poor wording/phrasing by IFAB (nothing new) rather than what the law intended.

This is one of the rules we bend at all levels because there's always something more important than the issue itself (whether its SOTG at grassroots or having to get the game going for tv purposes at the top). I suppose if a law doesn't have an impact on safety or a KMI theres always a bit of room to wriggle for the greater good.

To avoid all this nonsense, why don't clubs provide long-sleeved shirts as well as short-sleeved?
At the top levels, I agree. I believe the LA Galaxy in MLS used to have both. As I recall Beckham only wore long and they had at least long sleeve jerseys for him rather than him wearing something under. Certainly a better look than the shirts under.

Down to the shirt provider and not the clubs and depends on how big the club is.
for example Adidas don’t do the Celtic away and third shirt in long sleeve.
they also don’t do the spain away top in long sleeve but have done it specifically for players like Ramos who wears long sleeves.

Up to the club, not the kit provider, to say what they need.

If the top tier clubs want it, they will get it. And then the provider will be happy to have another version of the shirt to sell to the public.
