When is it too windy?

Folk look at wet puddle and go, well ball wont roll/bounce, equals unsafe, equals game off

As you rightly say above, wind, ball should be coming towards you, then, nope, its away!

Same principle, diff wavelength

PLAY ON...... Its a fun game for 99.9999% and not a professional ground, things won't be perfect... It's not about you!!! Do your very best to play through just about anything!! It's called weather, it happens!!!

If the ball won't stay still when placed for kick off, goal kick etc.

But some common sense also has to be applied.

Arbroath v Stranrear, called off after 15 mins due to wind

Am clearly not there, but cant see how it got worse from 245 to 315

Unless ref wanted to start it to give it a chance....

Windy & cold coastline that, I've been to most of the places up there, Aberdeen cops for bad wind too!!!

Its Arbroath I have already posted about on this thread

Notorious for it, but, 15 mins makes it seem foolish even starting, should have known from arrival, or even warm up.

Call it at 215, no fans in, call it 315 and Arbroath are now cash refunding 800 people

Installed 12 fire stations years ago in the winter, fffffreezing part of the country. The coldest I’ve ever been was RAF Leuchars in St Andrews, we were installing late till midnight and nasal excretions were forming icycles! Absolutely Baltic!

Not sure even wise to kick off with a player holding the ball with his hand ! Shape of things to come !!!!
Certainly no safety issue apparent, and, wind would have been same both teams.

That's poor refereeing, if a player has to hold the ball still at the kick off then clearly it isn't playable. What would he have done if he'd given a penalty, there's no way they would have been able to take it.

Yes but if you need to keep ball still with hand for even the kick off, I think its clear something is causing a problem....
I didn't notice the KO 💨
The ball stayed in place for the GKs, but you could tell from the noise on the camera that the wind was getting worse

Is there a technical reason against the LOTG why one couldn't have their hand on the ball at a KO? Just thinking more generally.

Had a cross wind blowing the ball off the mark in today's penalties in a County Cup game. Parent offered to hold the ball in place and seemed a bit offended when I said no.
