I’m looking for a plastic Acme Thunderer but just cannot find it anywhere. I have the metal one which I like but I recently used a plastic one which I really got on with and want as a second whistle. I have a second whistle (the one I got for completing the course but I hate it; you have to blow as hard as you can to get any sort of sound out at all. Please help as I just can’t...

Maybe another member on here can help you with your personal blowing technique!! Have you got your lips fully around it, tongue out of the way and whilst gripping it firmly in your hand applying various lengths and pitches that maybe required as a referee??? Its not always the actual whistle at fault! Ask your RDO if he or she can help!!

Easy enough to find on Amazon and eBay. Metal, plastic, coloured and with finger grip - your choice.

That was partly to blame, and I spoke to my first observer about it. Since I swapped whistles I’ve never had a problem or been picked up on my whistle technique. I do really want to develop a sharper tone though and when I used that whistle it seemed a little more professional, although it is mainly how I use it.

Not a thunderer but have just found 2 tornados if they’re any good to you?
