Thank you for the reply.. but i had the same problems last season trying to get a copy.. eventually I got one from the referees association in England which I paid for..this season the Referees association in England are not selling them.. depending which county F.A is your parent county you might be very lucky and get a paper copy for free.. I'm not an F.A Tutor or an Assessor so I do not get a paper copy and can not buy one either even through all my attempts via the IFAB online shop.
I'm just incredibly disappointed to say the least... I spoke to other county F.A's last season and got nowhere.. we are now in October.. all my posts and failed attempts speak for itself. not good enough really.

Someone somewhere is not doing his/her job right.
Here we have someone dying to get a copy of the laws of the game and going through all sorts of hoops but still nothing. Referees should be spending their time out there refereeing not chasing books.
And the answer can't be Angel is not following the right process because in that case the right process either doesn't exist or is not published well enough.

When u go to the website link they have provided in the email what do you get? It clearly says follow the link which if you click it ( it's the blue bit that you've edited out some of the info from) it should take you to a site to make direct payment.

Just to mention that if you have downloaded the file to your device it doesn't matter if there's no signal, you still have the file to read. Also, at least in my experience, tablets almost never crash. PC's might crash quite often but Android or Apple tablets or smart phones don't.

Thanks ever much for your reply. However I have a tablet that freezes and no longer updates, tabs crash all the time on an android phone.. forgive me I do not have much faith in Information technology based on such experiences.. oh and usb sticks information/data can and does simply disappear into the cyber ether... thank you for your comment though.
We are in the digital era, it won't be long before it isn't even printed at all. How many trees would get chopped down to print a LOTG book for every referee in the World? Same as many counties no longer print handbooks, many match day programs are on line, etc.
And I say this as someone closer to 50 than 40 so not exactly a millennial, and if I can get to grips with it anyone can.

However, my learner friend, one agrees to disagree with your delightful self..
1. The reality could be, the earth will look after itself somehow, The earth has survived for many years, long before homo sapiens graced the surface with their presence.. It shall survive again.
2. Environmental causes incredibly noble one agrees, paper is recycled is it not?
3. It's to do with costs at the end of the day.. Finances one believes.. By doing everything online.. More cost effective, printing your own individual copy, involves ink, cartridges which cannot be refilled as some of them have an electronic chip.. However keep buying more cartridges... Plastic... Cloud printing... Printer not compatible... Purchase another printer and so the cycle continues.. Endless profits for many selling such products.. Not such a terrible thing, it keeps individuals employed otherwise artificial intelligence takes over and homo sapiens cease to exist...perhaps
4. All electronic devices are insurable, why not software??? Why can operating systems not be just updated, why keep developing new software's, another purchase as your electronic device is not compatible..?
5. Laws of the game in paperback are priceless for oneself.. It is part of ones physical history whilst on the journey of life.. ones treasure ...

Paper is recycled to cut down on landfill waste. Someone putting a laws of the game book into a recycling bin doesn't generate another tree growing ..!

I remember saying at a CFA meeting about three years ago that the handbook wouldn't be printed for much longer and I was laughed down with people calling the idea preposterous and saying that I wasn't living in the real world. Step forward three years and I was right. Five years ago you got your insurance certificate in the post, now in the main you get access to an online portal. Same applies to tax forms, referee observation forms (you soon won't be able to observe without being able to submit the report online), referee misconduct (you soon won't be able to referee without being able to submit misconduct on WGS).

Using the electronic version is good and I encourage it but aren't we missing the point here. Tens if not hundreds of thousands of these books are printed every year. I get three copies given to me (and two for my live at home son). I try to pass extra copies on. Books are printed anyway.
The point is books are available and we have a referee who wants a book but can't get it. Is this the type of obstacle we want for our referees? Are we not supposed to facilitate learning and education?

One completely understand your points of view...However..
1. Will you be comfortable with electronic money??
2. Robots caring for you when you are sick, frail and can no longer manage your own affairs?
3. Expected to manage everything online.. even when you are unable to remember passwords or how do perform such tasks??

I used to use the electronic version but bought my first copy of the LOTG for this season. I find it so much easier and more accessible reading from the physical copy. You can take it anywhere without having to bring a laptop etc and it feels much easier to read than on a screen. I think it is really useful.
