    Substitute interference before a goal

I would like to give a goal, red card and a penalty

    Levels 5-9

I can't see the thread if it exists but I thought I'd say the FA have scrapped plans to merge the levels below 4 and find another way to fast track refs

    Goal Kick

Because the ball was travelling at a slow pace, the left winger got on to this and put the rb under pressure. To get rid of this pressure, the rb deliberately went into the 18yd before the ball left and passed it back to the keeper Defender deliberately stopped the ball comeing into play from a...

    Goal Kick

You could easily give a caution to the defender for delaying the restart

    And a yellow for simulation?

Collina: retake + yellow if goalie leaves line too early

One of the classic unenforced laws, you've got an additional assistant who will no doubt have been told pretty much not to give keeper encroachment.

    New Season....

County FA registration two months ago, league registration last month, RA subs two weeks ago, kit cleaned and stored in loft.

    New Laws, New Test...

So if you don't pass the test you don't get county cup games? I know a few refs who'd jump at that.

    2015/16 Review

    1. Total Games Officiated in? 31 21 middles 10 lines 2. Leagues Officiated in? Spartan South Midlands and the Amateur Football Combination 3. Promotion? Met minimum criteria for 5 to 4, but didn't get promoted, really gutted. Would have preferred the county FA to have managed my expectations a...

    Your England line up

I've never really thought much of Roy Hodgson as a manager, but with most of your selections he looks like an absolute genius. Hart Walker-Smalling-Cahill-Rose Dier-Drinkwater Vardy-Alli-Sterling Kane

    Level 4 fitness test

If a number of new Level 4s don't pass the fitness test do they then invite some of the other non-successful 5-4 candidates to replace them?

    Clatts and his advantages

I thought they had taken out an unnecessary 10,000 words rather than add some in.

    England 2 - 1 Turkey

You say Kane was offside. He was in an offside position at the precise moment Alli plays the ball forward, with the left back (I think) sprinting back, a quarter of a second after Alli plays the ball Kane is in an onside position. No assistant is ever going to get that offside unless they guess.

    Clatts and his advantages

You're right. So the player on a 2nd caution might as well have another pop if there's an advantage at least to stop the attack.

    Clatts and his advantages

I thought the first was a bit rapid but as both players hit the deck and a caution was coming fair enough. For the second it was going to be another caution, now, do you want a situation where a defender who is going to be cautioned gets another chance for a caution? The new law where you give...

    Vardy's dive

It's an interesting one, player gets in front of opponent, slows down quickly, opponent bumps player, players falls over. Happens all the time, especially with defenders shielding the ball near the corner flag.

Average Mark for Promotion to Level 4

I think an interesting part will be how CFAs determine who can apply to go to Level 4. I get to because as well as doing the standard criteria (fitness test, LotG exam, attendance at ISTs) I have demonstrated my ability by being promoted to Level 5. I have no doubt that there are plenty of...

Average Mark for Promotion to Level 4

Last promotion season, my RDO notified us of the change to the number of middles and lines in about Jan/Feb for 5-4. I get that CFAs don't want to "waste" assessments on candidates who don't meet the other minimum criteria. The biggest problem (in my eyes) is actually there is nowhere the...

It really winds me up when ...

At university in our Wednesday afternoon intra-mural league we didn't have refs at all, not even one of the players acting as ref. We just agreed fouls between the teams as they happened. Referees improve a game of football by having a sole decision maker. Assistants improve the game even...
