    Shelvey goal vs Sheff Utd

Following the goal in Leicester-Everton, another even stronger example of what I see as a folly decision by PGMOL to instruct ARs to flag on tight offsides (from 6:33): https://goals2.estreamall.com/player/html/21gxeT3U0R?popup=yes&autoplay=1 What's the advantage of flagging here? 'Cos there...

    Euro 2016 round-up

Tournament's over and, I've got to say, the standard of refereeing was excellent. Maybe we can attribute this to Collina 'cos, you know, whatever he touches is gold, he's our Jesus, et cetera, but whatever the reason...pretty incredible to have so many games and so few wrong decisions. Why...

Hull vs Arsenal - interesting 'offside'

Have a look at the BBC highlights - very first clip is a fun scramble in the Arsenal box. Lino flags an offside midway through - just before Hull score - but I'm thinking he's got it wrong. What say you?

    Manchester City vs Leicester

Great result and performance from Leicester - but anyone think anything wrong with Huth's second? And what about Aguero's consolation? What is going on with so many easy offsides missed of late? PS Love Anthony Taylor's double advantage for the Mahrez goal. :-)

    3rd Assessment (5-4)

Won't play the numbers guessing game this time, just posting for information in the hope there's something useful in there for someone. Was a 74 and a fairly flawless game. I guess that's about the maximum they're giving round these parts. I won't mind that one bit if I get it every time...

Yes! Mignolet gets nailed for >6 seconds. :-)

If you haven't seen it - Liverpool vs Bordeaux. Mignolet holds the ball too long and the ref awards an indirect free kick. Finally! And whaddya know? Bordeaux score. "They've just counted it and it was 20 seconds," says the BBC.

    Referee floored by player

It's from about a month ago but haven't seen it mentioned on here... Classic line from the commentator: "I'm not too sure what happened to the official there". And not just a funny vid but also a question in Law: was the referee right to stop play?

    50 points...

...if you spotted the 'infringement' when France's Griezmann came on as a substitute against England tonight.

    2 games, 22 goals...

One finished 8-6, the other 5-3 (three pens in that one). Muddy Sunday football; ya gotta love it. Anybody got that beat?

I like it when people guess the mark. Will you have a go at this one please?

Tottenham vs Man City (offside goals)

5 goals, three of them offside - though to be fair, only two of them were, you would think, unmissable. What's going on there then?

Wanted - Adidas Formotion shorts (medium)

Anybody got any of these they no longer use? I've got four shirts of various colours to go with them but have lost my two pairs of shorts (well, one got stolen off the washing line!) They're these ones here: http://futbalove-sortky.heureka.sk/adidas-referee/#ng:489ee1e500659ed85cc6fa366f8b111b

    Correct signal for throw in?

Bit of a weird one. Been reffing a few years, many assessments, hundreds of games. And then yesterday out of nowhere an assessor says I'm signalling wrong for direct free kicks and throw ins. Basically, my signal for throw ins was pretty much a horizontal arm, with direct free kicks more like 50...

    UK vs USA referee levels

Anybody got any idea what the equivalencies are? UK Levels here. US (Massachusetts) here.

    Arsenal vs Swansea

A lot of talk about the end of this game. Garry Monk and many Swansea fans saying Lee Probert shouldn't have blown up while they were on the attack. Monk's argument seems to be that - well, I'll let him tell it himself: Here's a gif of the end of the game, showing the whistle going at around...

    Throw-ins

Just watched the Hull-City game and saw two occasions where a throw-in was taken at least twenty yards behind where the ball went out. I don't like that. Can't understand why it's tolerated at the top level. Certainly, not what I've been told to do, or enforce, or feel is correct. A reminder of...

An oldie: I am the ref

I was just watching this (from 2.22) and thinking, if I'm the ref here I'm like, Ghana just scored there, Uruguay cheated them out of it, it's for a place in the World Cup semi-final, let's see if I can't set things right. Gyan misses: but having had an eye on the edge of the box I put my...

    Howard Webb

Howard Webb's got a nice smile but can he really be our top referee? Seems like he makes at least one truly poor decision every time I see him ref. I'm surprised his reputation ever recovered from the debacle of the World Cup. Anyways, tough gig. And not saying I could do better. (Though I am...

    Swansea vs Cardiff

Can anyone who's got MOTD pause it on the pass to Routledge for the second Swansea goal? Is he not waaaaay offside?
