Firstly, can't start a thread without mentioning Rooney's goal - wow!

Two incidents which didn't please Allardyce, for me Mason got both right.

1) Potential foul by Rooney on Tomkins,
2) Potential penalty before United's second goal.

With regards to the first I can't believe Allardyce had the cheek to say that Rooney wouldn't have scored of Lee Mason had 'done his job'.

For me there's not a lot of doubt but I'll put a vote on for Hammers fans!

Rooney's goal - meh. Number one, keeper should have stopped that easy if he hadn't got all dizzy and fallen over. Number two, I've scored a better one than that from the half-way line and I'd say I'm a pretty average player. Seems like if Rooney does it it's automatically "best one ever". His shinned overhead kick, for example - I'm pretty sure he meant to hit it with his boot. Not difficult to find plenty of better overhead kicks than that. Same with the lob. Beckham's was different class. Matt Taylor's vs Everton. Nayim. Or combine the two disciplines and go Zlatan. ;)

Tettey's goal best of the weekend for me. Of the ones I've seen.

As for the decisions: first one, maybe. The defender doesn't jump out of the way of the ball, something helps him and that something looks suspiciously like Wayne Rooney's arm.

Second one, not in a million years. Allardyce ought to be more concerned with his number 20, who decided he'd done enough running and let Rooney saunter on into the box.

I'll agree with Russell Brand and say the first one was a foul. Rooney's done enough to unfairly impede the defender. Also, he's just so goldarn overrated it winds me up. :)
