I saw this in a replay in the match and was amazed that no action was taken. I wonder if the FA will take retrospective action against the Spurs player.

Under CFA guidelines, it would be a 6 match ban for spitting at an opponent.

Photo is fairly clear that it happened, so Romero has a nice break until December?

The Ref Stop
i'm watching an (admitedly low quality) video and the spit isnt clear. when i saw it live i just thought he was telling him to get up (in slightly stonger words)

i'd have thought the player would have made more of it had he been spat at (ie told the ref at the very least) and he didnt appear fussed

I think that is the vanishing spray from an earlier free kick. It appears to be coming from his fingers as opposed to from the mouth.

I am watching a 720p res and can vaguely see it from both angles. Very difficult to catch the frame (I think something to do with the way the stream and frames are formed). Definately not from the finger. It happens at a frame after/before this. A 'matter' dropping from the mouth region. If it's spit, it's disgusting.

He's clearly yelling at him aggressively which is why he looks to have accidentally "dribbled" on the prone West Ham player. Pretty sure it's not an intentional "spit" under Law 12 although you could argue that in the current Covid climate, he should be exercising more caution when close-up to anyone. ;)

I'm not seeing that as spitting. Yes, there is a chance that as he shouts at him some spittle leaves his mouth, but that happens, after all that is why were were all locked inside for a long time, liquids do leave your mouth when speaking, and especially when shouting.
