The Ref Stop

West brom VS Spurs penalty

THE REF
Level 7 Referee
Just been watching match of the day and noticed that the penalty saved by Ben Foster that Swarbrick for me was to focused on the keeper and not the players on the edge of the box, because most of the WBA players were very far into the box, so in my opinion it should have been retaken, opinions please :)

The Ref Stop
one rule for the elite, one rule for the rest of us

mind you, how many times have people on here ever ordered a retake?

That's where I think the PGMO are affecting us, players see it happening on MOTD and referees not penalising it so they think it is okay to do it on a Saturday afternoon, which then makes our jobs harder....... :(

Couple of times, once ordered a retake for a goalkeeper taking a step off his line before ball was kicked, simply because an opposition player called out to distract the penalty kick taker. Found a reason for the retake, then booked the player for Y1

To be fair, the player calling out was reason enough for the retake

I remember taking a penalty aged 9 and a player stood behind me chanting "Charlie, Charlie" to encourage the goal keeper... The only penalty I ever missed and no retake was ordered and I'm still bitter about it

Agreed - particularly with holding, I don't know how Skrtel gets away with what he does, it annoys me.
