The Ref Stop

There's lovely for you!

The Ref Stop
What do we think of the challenge at 2:06?
Disappointing to hear homophobic language at 2:17

Disgraceful actions here by both teams. Although for a match coverage, this video was terrible!!

What do we think of the challenge at 2:06?

I was interested in opinions on that: a "robust" challenge. This is the sort of challenge I doubt myself on, so am interested in others opinions. Perhaps a bit of "follow through", but he (the defender) is "entitled" to go for that. Free kick or not? As I say, looking for other opinions, looking to learn.

Also penalty at around 3:05. Was it a penalty? Ok, hard to see from this footage, but looked like a good tackle to me.

Lack of match control
And what are you basing that on?

It missed the ball, as far as I can tell. So, foul.

Same for me, pen is a straightforward call even on the poor footage
cant see the hard tackle clearly but from what I can see, am ok with it

As for losing match control, I must be missing something because ok, the clip is not great but, I dont think its fair to say the ref lost control based on the footage. Plenty coaching points, plenty incidents are not caught on film so cant judge but, what the ref has to do with the nonsense off the park is beyond me.

Pen: I thought he (defender) played the ball, hence no pen, but I'm putting that down to the footage: real time, in the game, ref would see whether or not he plays the ball and decision depends on this. [Edit: just slowed the vid. down. He (the defender didn't play the ball: Penalty]

Interested in your thoughts on the challenge: I was calling "no foul" but have often wondered if I'm too tolerant on this sort of challenge so pleased that I am not alone in this.
