Went propper PL official today, gave a corner and knew by players reaction it should have been a goal kick.

Corner comes in pushing and defensive free kick.

No, never done that. I've been caught in 2 minds before and maybe knew I'd made a mistake based on players reaction but that's life. I'm never going to make something up off the back of it.

Imagine the players reaction when you follow up giving a corner which isn't a corner with a free kick for a push which never existed. Credibility is straight out the window

If I am going to make up a foul to give the ball to the defenders, I have to be pretty damn sure it was a goal kick to start with. Then it comes down to humility (and possibly honesty) to change my decision in the first place and give the goal kick if I am that sure. Two wrongs can give the same outcome here but don't make a right.

Going down the path of giving decisions to square things up is a slippery slope and a dangerous path.
