Abandoned?

That looked like one hell of a throw in any other circumstances, but... Obviously disgusting to see.

right strong decision. Would have been an easier decision to carry on. It looked like an an abandonment.

They took a break, fourth official took up AR2's role, and they finished off the last ~10 minutes of the match... about 20-30 minutes later.

Presuming the stadium had been cleared of spectators by this point?

If players are walking off for unacceptable chanting, as vile as that is, and grounds being either reduced in capacity or closed for xx games, then its got to be match abandoned and xxx games closed doors

Can only think its one where a uefa delegate has persuaded, or been persuaded, to resume the game

Should have been abandoned IMO. Perfect opportunity to send a clear message to all fans about the limits of acceptable behaviour

Nope.

The culprit was identified and arrested by in-house security though, and the home team's chairman noted that he was a) being banned from the stadium and b) being turned over to the police.

It's not the first time UEFA has continued a match in... undesirable circumstances. Won't be the last.

Rightly, the match should have been abandoned. More importantly, what punishment will UEFA levy - thrown out of the comp would be a good start. 2 seasons ban would also be important, so no matter how well they did in the league they miss the European cash.

I know that the English clubs ban was from a different time and for worse actions, but UEFA have a chance to do the right thing.

They won't do anything other than perhaps a token fine, say €10,000. Certainly won't come close to the fines dished out for wearing poppies or breaking advertising regulations.
