Ref John Brooks missed two penalties in the first half?
Same ref had a poor game two weeks ago when disallowing a perfectly good goal for Yeovil v Villa

Thought he was poor and I only watch it after. Should have been a few more cautions and how was Gayle not booked, on every decision he was in Mr Brooks ear

Completely agree, very poor. Staring right at both Flint having his shirt pulled and Ayala Manhandling Bartley and didn’t bat an eyelid. Gayle gave him a mouthful, no reaction from the ref. Ayala handball for the goal could be difficult to spot but overall, in a game which would clearly be built around set pieces, he had no control on any of them

The ref got himself into a situation whereby he couldn't give a penalty for holding or shirt pulling, because he'd missed so many instances of just that. Any penalty award would have been met with vehement injustice by whichever defense it was awarded against. Brooks ought to focus on improving his decision making rather than focusing on looking the part imho
