adults and a bit more severe ... then id say extraordinary misconduct

Well that's as may be but as several (if not most) of the discussions on here show, the importance of fully understanding and interpreting the meanings of words and phrases is a fairly significant factor in being able to apply the Laws correctly. So I would say a decent knowledge of grammar, spelling etc, is a pretty useful thing for a referee.

As someone once said, "It can be the difference between people thinking you know your sh*t and people thinking you know you're sh*t."

Also, as George Orwell put it, "the slovenliness of our language makes it easier for us to have foolish thoughts."
