Sam Alladyce...Have a word with yourself!

Sam Alladyce really is frustrating at times, he has said this weekend that as Harry Kane's penalty was saved John Moss should have blown for full time and not allowed him to score the rebound. I wonder if he would have said the same if it was at the opposite end?

Would anybody have blown for full time and not allowed the rebound??

I mentioned this on another thread. But as a Spurs fan I've not watched the highlights yet, but cannot see how this is the case. If the penalty is the last kick of the game and is saved if the rebound falls to the kicker to slot home I'm not stopping the game. If play starts to carry on, ie falls to another player who has to pass etc then I'd blow. Bit like if a team is attacking and its full time providing they are being direct I'll let play carry on. The second they faff about passing it about and not directly going at goal then I'll blow.

I'm not blowing until the ball is in no danger of being smashed into the net as the whistle sounds!

Ball goes dead or out of immediate danger of a shot (essentially out of the area and nobody about to smash it back in), full time, thanks very much, where's the sandwiches?

If the keeper saved it and went straight to the kicker who knocked it in first touch..... a goal... IMO... if kicker took two touches i would have blown.

Really?? @mikedn personally i aint blowing until like @SM said the ball is out of danger of being smashed in. I think you are asking for trouble any other way. Do you think if it was at the other end then Sam Alladyce would be in agreement that he expected the whistle? He babbled on about Moss allowing an extra 2 seconds of play, i mean come one i thought it was April 1st when i first heard him say it.

Per Law 7 - If a penalty kick has to be taken or retaken, the duration of either half is extended until the penalty kick is completed.

Now, who would like to define penalty kick is completed?

Many moons ago on another forum, I'm pretty sure someone said the only way to make this (F/T called after pen) work, is to let everyone know beforehand that the pen is literally the last kick of the match.

Still think you will have credibility issues.

As for Sam A............. he implied Kane went down easily - despite being hauled to floor and being tripped twice by the defender.

When asked if he thought Noble should have been dismissed for 2nd yellow card, he then jumped on first yellow card saying he didn't think shirt pulling (His "1st" yellow) should be a yellow card.

So this weeks its timekeepers, pens to finish match after 1st kick and shirt pulls allowed, next week it will be whatever laws referee has applied "against" West Ham that he will bang on about.

Expecting anything sensible from managers about referee performances is becoming a totally futile exercise!

On a plus point he will most likely be collecting his P45 at the end of the season! But that means insane West Ham fans will probably want Di Canio to get the job or something equally as mental!

From the instruction I was given, it's the same as the KftM. The penalty kick is completed when either a goal is scored, the ball's momentum stops, or a player besides the goalkeeper plays the ball after the initial kick. Regardless, it's up to the referee when the penalty kick is done. If the ref did extend time for the penalty in this match, it should've been blown dead when Kane kicked the ball for a second time. Of course, the players would also have been correctly informed that time was extended, and they wouldn't have been allowed to charge into the penalty area once the kick was taken.

Kane did go down easily, but don't they all these days ? Sadly though it is ruining football and making the refs job even harder !

I don't blame players going down easy, if they stay on their feet and get off a lame impeded shot as a result, they usually get nothing.

I totally agree. I dont expect all players to be heroes and stay on their feet. Plus we all know if a player goes down in the area its to give the referee a decision to make. Its all part and parcel of the game.
