Restart position after offside?

Under the new law the offside flag is often delayed. From where should play be restarted? Is it
A - the initial offside position (where the player begins the run)?
B - the position of the player when the linesman raises the flag (few yards after the run)
C - the position of the player when the referee blows the whistle? (which might be after the linesman raises flag as ref might let play develop)

Any reference from law on this?

…which it almost never is making the restart part of law 11 a bit daft IMHO
There is a (fairly recent) major focus within PGMOL AR to try and tighten this up. The key message to (all) ARs is to keep running when 'waiting on' an attacker who may / may not commit an offside offence ... rather than to stop or slow down in the expectation of putting up your flag

Something I need to work on!! 😂
"Keep up lino" when in reality im as quick as a butchers dog!!

Actually the Law is solid, it is the referees who fail to enforce it who are a bit daft.
I’d say it’s unenforceable as written, especially as it’s still in the laws that it can still be an offence before the interference occurs therefore we have a physics problem. Even before we get into the relative locations of the flag, ref and ball.

The laws could have a catch-all to reflect the realities, like “the referee allows play to continue irrespective of the location of a defensive free kick that is quickly taken and does not directly lead to a goalscoring opportunity” or something like that.
