Restart a game?

I had a game last season where Red committed a foul so I blew the whistle, then Blue player reacted by kicking out at Red. I sent Blue off for this offence and restarted with the original foul so Blue had the free kick. is this the correct way to restart?

Yeah no matter how stupid it seems you were right, if you stop play for any reason you must restart again according to the reason that you stopped it and not what happened in between

You cant give a foul when the ball is out of play, if youve stopped play then the correct restart will correspond to what you stopped for

Just out of curiosity, why do you think it seems stupid?

The ball was out of play when this incident happened, so as said above, free kick for the original foul is to be awarded. You can never reverse a free kick (it's not rugby!)
