Was watching some game film in preparation for our College Season in a few weeks (plus I’m working in the booth for an NFL Academy game at Loughborough tomorrow) - and found this interesting bit from an XFL Broadcast - which showed how they review decisions.

A good little bit of learning on how to analyse and communicate between officials in a calm, methodical and accurate manner

Free flowing football (soccer) is the goal.

American Football (AF) is very stop start. Nobody minds if a a 3/4 minutes process happens, doesn't really break the flow of AF.

Plus in this example and a lot of AF the decisions are very black and white, while in football a lot of challenges can only really be felt by the man in the middle, using his/hers proximity, sounds, reactions etc...

"Let it stand" sounds as imprecise as "check complete" if they had got wrong what the onfield call was.
