Does that video show the incident? Hard to tell what happened there without reading the story. And the camera guy appears to need a drink pretty badly, bless him.

Is it me or is that a FIFA badge the official is wearing?
Opinion wise, the writeup makes it sound worse than it is... That said, at that level, in fact at any level, you would expect the officials to know the laws.
Wow, at any level that's a pretty awful mistake to make! I'm surprised none of the other officials corrected the referee though, is it not commonplace for NAR's to correct the referee on decisions such as that?
Watching this brings back memories of my brother refereeing a game that went to penalties. It got to sudden death, and he was told "first to score wins" so up steps the first player, who scores. Brother blows the whistle and awards the win to he team who had scored. Only problem was, that the other team never got a chance to equalise.
