Gents,

I am new to this so not sure if this is the right area. But any idea when to expect the L4 nominees to be announced ?

The Ref Stop
The nominees will have been known for a while. Counties nominate to the FA in advance.
Those that have been successful in being promoted to L4 are going to be announced Thursday / Friday, from what I understand.

To be fair Dan, as you know, the FA only really determine the L3 promotions, and both these and the L4 promotions are based on specific criteria and assessments. The L4 are nominated to The FA but they have already been passed by the County.

Maybe some of them aren't great referees in your opinion, but when it mattered the L3 guys got top club and assessor marks, and the L4 guys passed their 3 to 5 assessments with high enough marks to get put forward. I share some of your comments for some of the guys I've seen this year (only based on one or two games each), but that's all I have - one game. We've all had poor games here and there.

Maybe your comment is more of a critique of the assessment process?

I batter the referee each game at Upton Park for 90 minutes and say they are useless ... but am I better than them? I bloody doubt it!

BUT you can sleep safe at night knowing you're better than all those players in claret! ;)
