Promotion - Football Pyramid Levels

Hi All,

Mods, feel free to move this if not in the right section.

I am looking for some clarity on the promotion levels of Referees and how these correspond to the football pyramid. such as the highest league you can referee on at 7,6,5,4 and so on.

Such as, is the Conference(National League) the level for a Level 4 Referee?
or what is the highest league a level 5 Referee can Referee at?

I have a rough idea on these but want to see if I am correct and felt this was the best place to ask with the vast knowledge on the forum. I have refereed for ten plus years but have never progressed and now life settled down a bit I am thinking about promotion and moving up the ladder.

Cheers

Benney

Level 7-5 depends on what your local leagues are.

Level 4 ref at West Midland League Premier Level or whatever your equivalent is
Level 3 Northern/Southern/Isthmian Leagues
Level 2b Conference North/South
Level 2a Conference Prem
Level 1 Football League

You also line at the level above the one you ref at. E.g. Level 4 line in Northern/Southern/Isthmian Leagues

That's how it works in my area from what I can work out

L5 referee local levels. L4 will referee with supply league, with neutral assistant referees. These are required to be more available and have to pass the fitness test before they can act at that level.
