A lot of young players have been regularly asking "How longs left ref?". Do you guys just tell them or not?

The Ref Stop
Not just young players, all players ask, regularly. If someone asks I will sometimes shout it out loudly to try and avoid the constant "how much time ref?" Questions

I don't know why you wouldn't tell them... I usually say "We have at least XX minutes to go." or I'll say "We've played XX minutes."

Yup, I always say 'about five' or whatever is on the watch.

What annoys me is when I am AR and players/coaches ask me 'How long lino?'

"Well, I make it xxxx minutes, but Ref's the timekeeper not me"

you can guarantee when MY estimate xxxx mins is up, they are at me again "Come on Lino, how much longer is he adding on???"

Had one a couple of week's ago, where, just as the ref has caught my eye and signalled '4' to me..... coach has said 'how long lino?'
"Minimum of four" I reply
"You never even looked at your watch, how can u be sure?"
lol...."I'm not the timekeeper, and the ref just told me!"

I normally say XX plus stoppage. They never know how long I've added for stoppage, if any!

Just be careful, I had one last week: "How long ref?!" "about 3 minutes" *Laughter ensues* "I meant how long you gonna let that goalie keep hold of the ball you wally!"
