Did Southampton lose? Would never have guessed after Mark Hughes slagged off the referee. Never done that before.
As for the challenge, I'm hard pressed to justify red to myself. Real time - clearance and collision. Happens all the time. I don't see the ripped shirt and stud swipe on first view on TV, but if I'm out there, I won't be side on like the camera. Foul? I could give that with minimal fuss. Caution probably but little more.
Serious Foul Play? I'd mischievously challenge that by saying is there not an argument in that case that Ings was reckless, throwing himself in there to block a legitimate clearance, in such a manner that put both him and Pickford at risk?

I was at the game (granted at the other end) and actually thought first view Ings had left one on Pickford, while this wasn’t the case I think the referee who had a tough afternoon dealing with Southampton who picked up six yellow cards.
