Persistent infringes

Hey does anyone want to give examples of persistent infringes of the laws of the game as i never seem to caution anyone for this

The Ref Stop
Three or four fouls, which on their own do not warrant a caution, but taken as a "course of conduct" justify a caution for persistant. One thing I was told was keep an eye on who keeps fouling and where so that when you do call him in for a chat, you can make a big show of pointing to the areas on the field where the offences have occurred so that noone is in any doubt that you have identified a series of fouls justifying the card.

"I'm having to speak to you far too often fella, the caution is for persistent" the last time I gave on for persistent, I think it was a foul tackle, a couple of very slight dissents then another clumsy challenge that resulted in the card in the 75th.

Assuming they are all 'nothing' fouls, start with a FK, if you give another FK against the same player have a quiet word "That's two now fella, settle it down" , third one a 'public' talking to then fourth one card him.

The closer he gets to a cautionable offence the fewer chances he gets.

Watch also for a particular player, such as a quick forward etc, getting fouled regularly by different players. If this happens I will warn the captain andcaution for persistent infringement if it doesn't stop.

If it is borderline YC I call them over and tell them that this is there 1st AND LAST warning next time they are going in the book.
Works for me

Like stated above, it could be the same offence a few times, or a variety of different offence.

For example, if a player takes a foul throw, then he makes a 'standard' foul, and then has a bit of a moan, then I am booking him for persistent.

And the old bit of a moan, bit of a moan, churlish attitude towards a stern word, soft foul... yeah, that'll do.
