I was watching my boy at football training on Thursday and got talking to a fellow dad who is a big rugby fan/coach. Talking about dissent he just laughed and said if a player spoke in a disrespectful way his team already start walking back 10 yards as they know 100% they will be pinged for it. If you swear at a ref the player starts walking off before the ref sends him off - his team mates will moan about this to the player in question, not at the ref because they know what happens if they moan at the ref.

Friend of mine plays reasonable standard rugby. Last season a team mate argued with the referee and the club suspended him for 4 games and told him that a repeat would see him on his bike.
