Luton vs. Braintree

The red card on 30 mins.

For those who didn't see it, the goalkeeper came out of his box, misjudged it and then both he and the defender fouled the attacker. It was a definite red card - can you send off both players for one tackle, and if not, who do you send off (the goalkeeper only was sent off in this case). Both players went in simultaneously, it was not a matter of penalising who fouled first.

I was there, behind the goal so I couldn't see it very well, however my first thought was surely they both have to be sent off... But that's me just being bias!

My instinct was the defender, it looked like he made the original foul but I didn't see it clearly...

Also, what was the penalty like? I couldn't see it from where I was standing, the crowd reaction suggested it was a penalty?

Depends: If it was the Luton defence you can send them both off, Braintree defence and it wasn't even a foul. :p

Where's the dislike button? ;-)

As for the original question, the goalkeeper was almost certainly the one who fouled him. The defender knocked the ball away and didn't actually touch the player as far as I could see.

As for the penalty, it was definitely handball, but whether you would give it as a penalty or not...

Seen some of the highlights, referee got all the key decisions spot on in my opinion.

Surprised Franks didn't get sent off for a second yellow to be honest!
