Thoughts on this one chaps and chapesses...

A game on a Sunday morning my mates were playing in, Pub league, nothing special!

The opposition sent a sub on who must have been out on the lash the night before and still somewhat the worse for wear, the guy who was reffing sent him off as he smelled alcohol on his breath!

Amusing yes, but right? I wasn't sure but would be interested to know!

The Referee Store
Sent him off as in showed him a red card? Or asked him to leave the FOP?

Last time I checked, smelling of alcohol wasn't a sending off offence

no., but there is a duty of care to the players - personally, i would have taken him aside with the manager and suggested he didn't take part.

I totally agree. I'd have done the same.

If he acctually showed a RC then he will have a bit of a problem explaining that one!

But yes, I would be advising that the coach make sure he doesn't play before he does something that results in me stopping him playing!
