Goals

A bit pedantic but nonetheless interesting.

I turned up to my game today and saw some new addition to the goals and the uneven gap made me think. There is a bit of slope on the ground. The law requires the posts to be vertical and the cross bar to be horizontal. In this case one end of the bar seems to be about a foot below the other end.

Neither of those is a requirement by the lotg whichever you mean :) Vertical and horizontal are the words used by the lotg.

Is @one being too acute or just obtuse? PLAY ON!!!!
Of course play on. I did mention in the OP this is on the pedantic side and only a an interesting discussion.

The ground is the horizon line.
The horizon line is the line at which the earth's surface and the sky appear to meet. Your statement would only be correct if the ground is perfectly flat (no slope). As stated in the OP this ground has a bit of a slope (5% according to the groundsman).

Just to reinforce the point, a bar paralleled to the ground on a hill with a 45 degree slope would not be horizontal, it would also have a 45 degree angle to the horizon.
