What are your thoughts on goal line technology? (Should it be introduced in the BPL for example?)

(same phase, better quality, don't know if people from outside Belgium are able to watch it).[/URL]

Here's an excerpt of Belgian's Jupiler League Lierse vs Genk game of last week.
A Genk (blue) player fires a long distance shot; the ball hits the crossbar and bounces back, clearly no goal.
At first, the ref didn't award Genk a goal but was convinced by his AR -who was "in a better position to judge".

This phase started a considerable debate in Belgium: firstly about the introduction of goal line technology, and, secondly: are referees being criticized too much? However, the outcome was: goal line technology is seen as way too expensive for our top league (apparently, around 800.000 euros per stadium).

The referee, Wim Smet, is "being rested" for the moment.

I think it has worked a treat in the Premier League. Stops all dissent and makes sure correct goals are given!

No complaints over goal/no goal decisions anymore!!
