Fixtures or Tournament ?

Referee/Mentor
In May i have arranged to participate in a football tournament every Sat/Sun in May and first weekend in June.
Come the end of the season will the County FA "add" on all the postponed games this season? If so does a referee have to accept the fixtures given to him as it is now officially the end of season. Therefore be able to fulfill his commitment to the Football Tournament( quite a large one runs for 6 weeks)

The Referee Store
June is officially the close season, where no 11 a side can be played. Fixtures may be rescheduled, but if you're committed elsewhere, close your dates. Don't want to teach you to suck eggs, but by doing it in plenty of time you can save yourself a world of grief.

Additionally as the clocks will have gone forward a lot of the backlog become night games so you may be called Tuesdays and Thursdays to referee.

Just note the order of precedence - FA, CFA, Leagues etc. You will find that to be "open" to a league you also have to be open to the CFA. If you close out to CFA you can then not do any games.

Assuming that your tournament is FA / CFA alinged and approved (hence you are officiating and are covered for insurance ya de ya) hen you will have to be open to them, such that they can use you if needed.

you can not be Open to a league, but closed to CFA. If you do, see all promotion chances go out the window and have a large dark mark against your name - or worst case be suspended from officiating.

Maybe a quite word with a sypathetic RDO?
