Refs gives penalty... then takes 3 minutes to then reverse his decision and give a free kick for offside!!! What an absolute dogs dinner!!

Whats happening to football, then is absolutely ruining the spectacle...Not disagreeing with the decision but this is just stupid as a spectacle!!!

Yeah remember watching this live and it was a mess. Don't know why the footage the VAR is seeing can't be projected on to the big screen which possible like in rugby. Would certainly help clarify a lot of doubts.

Just to spin this out. From that side angle it's not conclusive who plays the ball before the defender's last touch... and the defender's last touch is not a deliberate play of the ball, which would mean offside. But from the angle from behind the goal it looks like the defender makes a tackle with one touch and then plays the ball again while falling down - not offside.

Total farce and/or total balls up
