The Ref Stop

Finger grip

The Ref Stop
I used the fox sonic blast one for a season and a half.

Pros -
Whistle is always where you think it is (on your finger!)

Cons -
Takes a bit of getting used to
In warm and cold conditions it is not always comfortable to wear.

So in conclusion, I would suggest that it may suit a referee who uses a whistle in their officiating and has fingers given its whistling nature and ease of accessibility. However, it could also be thought of as not suitable a referee who is easily made to feel uncomfortable with a grip attached to his fingers.

:D

I got a fake fox 40 one from China for £1.98 incl p+p just to try the finger grip, the whistle isn't bad but not great but I quite like the finger grip.

I really like mine and it never comes off my fingers (so you know where it is at all times).

I always have a fear that if not, ill fumble for the whistle, and whilst play continues because ive been unable to stop it... someone crunches someone!

The guilt would live with me.

Moral/Conclusion of the story... Always have a finger grip.

I used to use a wrist lanyard, lost it so stopped using it. But since then been advised to use neither a lanyard or a finger grip, as you can't make signals with your hands and/or get into stop a riot and blow the whistle at the same time. Makes sense IMO.
