Everton Vs Chelsea

Mooseybaby

Retired big bad baldy in all black!
Shortly after Everton scored, blue smoke flare gets thrown onto the pitch. (Shouldn't be allowed in stadiums) Richarlison picks it up and throws it back into the crowd. Not the cleverest of things to do. No action taken by referee Kevin Friend.

Can remember years ago, Arsenal Vs Liverpool FA Cup game, Carragher was hit by a coin thrown from the crowd and in red mist moment threw it back, promptly earning himself a red card.

Not watching it but from what you type alone, deserves a red for stupidity

Don't think he threw it back in anger, as it came from the Everton fans I thought?

Every bag 'checked' at QPR, yellow tag given and nearly EVERY game a flare comes on from the away end

Considering how dangerous a flare could be.... How nothing was done about this is criminal.

Maybe there was a slim chance none of the on field officials saw it, but could VAR have gotten involved?

Could he still get a ban or as the officials let it go, he gets away with it?

Haven't seen it, but on Talk Sport they were saying it was a smoke bomb rather than a flare. Flares are dangerous because of the heat, whereas smoke bombs are less so, although the smoke can cause breathing problems.

I think the Carragher one was different, as he threw the coin back into opposition fans in anger after they threw it at him. Richarlison was just trying to clear the pitch and threw itr towards his own supporters. Stupid yes, but I can't them taking any action other than a warning.

It was actually thrown into an area that there were no crowd.

Note the yellow vested ball boy for position reference and direction of throw.

Agree. It looked like he was trying to clear it. And agree, not the smartest thing to do.
