The Ref Stop

ENG V SUI

The Ref Stop
1st big call. Penalty claim from Kane. Clearly not a pen, bread and butter for the ref.

Off topic from refereeing, but England looks a lot more attacking minded in this setup. Good initial adjustment by Southgate to match Switzerland’s three at the back.

It took 16 minutes for Harry Kane's first simulation of the game... terrible role model and captain for our national team.

Didn't see this thread and started another one

Very very clear handball offence there. Indicating it will be checked but if course can't be reviewed as not a reviewable incident.
Yeah I found the holding of the comms headset abit odd, it was quite a long way out the box.

I’m a big fan of Orsato’s but this performance has just been a little odd from him and his assistants.

Might just be the first time in elite football I have seen a player allowed to stay on after medical staff on after a caution.

Pretty sure there was a early group stage game where the player was allowed to stay on despite treatment taking well over a minute!

To be fair, probably a good thing that was a goal by Embolo. Had it not been a goal, it very likely could have been a DOGSO red and a penalty for the Trippier hold/pull.

Again, off-topic-what a brilliant shot by Saka. He’s such a great player to watch-easily one of my favorites.
