It might just be me but I'm sure that he isn't 17, he seriously doesn't look it.

i assume all youth players have identity cards for the leagues that they play in so, presumably, his birth certificate has been checked at some point by a club official.

Not the referees place to intervene, i would say, though no harm in mentioning it in your match report if you feel uncomfortable with it, i guess
