The replays showed the penalty was clearly outside the box - unfortunate - a clear mistake but an "honest" one.

What intrigued me more was Deano's positioning. For one corner he was at the back stick, inside the 6 yard box. For one free kick he was just outside the 6 yard box and behind all the players. Both of these were intelligent, but unusual in my experience. Are there some new guidelines?

I'm sure premier league referees are told to get in the best place possible to see a incident wherever they go on the pitch - so don't follow a rigid right back to right back. I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm incorrect .

Seems Dutch ref was coincidentally thinking the same thing
