Cautions for Player Managers

Hypothetical question
Quite often I am refereeing matches that have a player manager - if they get a caution as a team official (one of the 'non-playing' cautions, such as persistently not respecting confines of technical area) then were to come on as a player and get a yellow for a foul tackle, do they still receive the red or are they treated separately in this case?

My instinct, and if I was involved in this situation, would be to show the red with the rationale that as player manager they accept that they have extra responsibility and therefore extra offences they could be cautioned for.

I've had a look through the LOTG and didn't see an obvious answer, also a cursory search on here came up with nothing.

I don't think ever ever seen any guidance on such a situation. Surely the yellow cards would have to be cumulative so receiving 2, regardless of which role they were performing at the time, would result in a red.
